Pakistan, Turkiye Reaffirm Commitment to $5bn Bilateral Trade Target

Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to further strengthen economic relations and reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a $5 billion bilateral trade target, previously set between the two countries.

Addressing a joint press conference in Istanbul alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said both sides discussed ways to expand trade and investment in line with the longstanding spirit of bilateral cooperation.

He confirmed that the two countries have reiterated their goal of raising trade volume to the agreed $5 billion target. Erdogan also noted that relevant ministries are working on the proposed special economic zone in Karachi for Turkish and Pakistani business communities, while discussions are ongoing to broaden the financial trade framework between the two nations.
